That’s the case at Saxum, where leadership was taking a huge step to transform one of Oklahoma’s most storied spaces into a vibrant and modern agency environment never seen in Oklahoma City.
Overlooking the skyline of downtown Oklahoma City, Saxum envisioned a space truly centered around collaboration and lively ideas.
The growing trend in office architecture for the past few years has been large, open spaces promoting more collaboration, a sleek look, and a team-centered environment. With more open space and shorter cubicle walls, employers can no longer rely on office walls and doors to help keep distractions down and production up.
In an effort to maintain privacy and efficiency, Saxum needed to use technology to make the open space concept work. In addition, the minimal design would mean that technology needed to “disappear” into the space.
The technology would also need to enhance conversations, ideas, and collaboration– not take away from it.
In order to keep productivity up, but not hamper the flow of ideas, Cory’s Audio Visual installed a sound masking system that can deliver a more direct white noise into the areas where it is needed the most. The system can also store scheduled increases and decreases in sound for times of heavy traffic and noise during the day, like lunchtime.
In addition, the technology needed for sound masking and meeting spaces were designed to match the colors around them, ensuring nothing caused a distraction in the design.
Each meeting room, lounge, and collaboration space was equipped with the latest in conference room technology to ensure the flow of communication continued, added to productivity, and created a space that worked for their employees, rather than against them.
